Happening in Savona, Italy on December 12-13, an Audi Melges 20 Tune-Up event that will round out the 2009 year. The event is organized by the Gruppo Vela dell’Assonautica Provinciale di Savona, Tango Sail Service of Ligure and Melges Europe.

Coordinated by Stefano Shiaffino from North Sails Italy, Melges Europe’s Federico Michetti provided the very exciting Audi Melges 20 for demos and test sailing. He will also present the boat in detail. For more information, contact Melges Europe.

Specifically on the 13th of December, the Christmas Regatta will take place organized by the Italian Naval League of Savona and will raise money for the telethon.

This past weekend, the second Audi Melges 20 Winter Tune-Up of Savona took place. The event was organized in collaboration with the Nautical Association of Savona on November 28-29. As in previous ‘tune-up’ events, Stefano Schiaffino of North Sails Italy conducted the training session.

During this occasion, Melges Europe will be onsite for Audi Melges 20 demo sessions. President of Melges Europe, Federico Michetti will be at the tune-up and present a complete detailed demonstration. Demos will also be held in Marina di Ravenna.

During the last week-end the Audi Melges 20 Winter Tune-Up started in Savona. Several teams decided to take advantage of training in the Liguria’s Sea, to get in shape for the next season. While someone is planning the winter holidays, others put the step on the gas to achieve or try to beat the leaders of the last season.

The training day is very tough: going out in the early morning to take the chance of Tramontana, warm up with several speed tests, a lot of starts and shorts races. Well, turned out for the best.

The Audi Melges 20 Winter Tune-Up will go on the next November the 28-29 and it will conclude December the 12-13, with the Christmas Race on the last Sunday 13^th December.

Moreover we rembember you that the free trial of Audi Melges 20 will go on even for the next two planned week end.

Great news has just arrived from Melges headquarters in Zenda, Wisconsin: Audi Melges 20 production will now officially take place in the USA. A great time was had by all, and the weather was perfect! A very special thanks from the International Audi Melges 20 Class Association and Melges Europe to the gracious and hospitable Bayerischer Yacht Club. Their hospitality was phenomenal! A very special thanks to Ralph Wood, BYC Harbor Master and Board Member that assisted in organizing this amazing weekend and, most especially to all the club members who joined in on the fun.

Sailors came from Bayerischer Yacht Club, Munchner Yacht Club, Possenhofener Yacht Club, Munchner Ruder-und Segel-verein and Deutscher Touring Yacht Club — thank you for joining us at the demo day.

Melges Europe is currently on Lake Starnberg in Germany offering test sails to all who are interested in the Audi Melges 20! The full presentation will be held at the Bayerischer Yacht Club with the following clubs in attendance:

- Possenhofener Yacht Club
- Munchner Ruder – und Segel-verein
- Deutscher Touring Yacht Club

Demo sail line is getting longer. Motorboats will be bringing/rotating crews out on the water every 20-30 minutes.

Beginning on Thursday, March 26, for three days, Audi will create a spectacular event in the heart of Milan. The mark of four rings, in fact, in the Piazza Duca d’Aosta, will be the three boats which compete in the most important international racing circuit. A large audience of fans will have the opportunity to approach the charming world of sailing and to touch these technological jems.
