Ecklund rounds second to Wynsma at the gate. Wynsma starting to pull away from Ecklund. Wilber overtakes Lucas for third.
Left is looking strong. Wynsma, Wilber and Eclund not looking too shabby out on the left.
Wynsma around first, Ecklund right on his heels in second, Lucas around third.
Here we go…
Course 4 @155, breeze is light. Last read was 4.4 knots.
All clear for the start. Series leader Ecklund out on the left. Wynsma too.
Ronning takes the right.
The fleet has made their way out to the course only to find no breeze. PRO Bruce Golison is speculating that the breeze may not fill in as previously expected. So, should the breeze not arrive soon, racing may be called off this afternoon.
We’ll keep you posted.
AP down at 12:58, teams are headed out to the course.
Teams are waiting for the breeze. RC will most likely not leave the dock until 11…
Standby for more updates.
On Friday, the regatta formalities were put to rest — registration, a nice tune-up and practice session with Andy Burdick with Melges Performance Sailboats and Skipper’s Meeting. Now — the drama begins. Light air is forecasted — 6-9 knots, with warm temperatures in the mid-70′s.
